100 Bottles of Beer (Left)
on the Wall!
Day 265, with no repeats and no misses.
Looks like I’m gonna be successful on this half of the quest. I’m sorry to report that I’m not doing so
well on the 50 pounds. In fact, I’ve
probably put back on several of those pounds I’ve lost earlier in the
year. Maybe that’s next year’s quest…
Continuing the Germany vs. USA Oktoberfest Beer Run, Germany’s ahead
after 4 beers for each country.
Now when the guy at Total Wine recommended the Ayinger, the second beer
he recommended was the Victory Festbier.
I’ve always been a fan of Victory beers – they have high quality beers
to appeal to all tastes.
The Victory Festbier is a Marzen style beer with a nice copper
color. The difference here is a little
more hop character than traditional Marzens, giving it just a little bit of
(welcome) bitterness. Just enough to
bump it up to a Very Good rating, and give the USA a chance to pull ahead (with
2 beers left for Germany and 1 for the USA).
