Geschmack gebraut. I have no idea what
that means.
The Köstritzer brewery was founded in 1543 and is one of the oldest
producers of Schwarzbier (black lager) in Germany. Kostritzer Schwarzbier pours to a deep black
color with a light and creamy head and a lightly roasty smell. The body is
lighter than the color might suggest. The palate is slightly roasty and
coffeeish, rather clean, slightly nutty, a little chocolaty, and a bit creamy.
It’s definitely lighter in taste than other dark beers like stouts or
porters. Certainly an enjoyable beer,
and I would have had another if I had one in the fridge!
