Duke, duke, duke. Duke of
beer, beer beer.
The original Duquesene Brewery was incorporated in Pittsburgh in 1899. In
the 1970’s the brand was sold to the Schmidt’s Brewing Company, and the
Duquesne brands remained in production through the 1980’s.
In 2008, a Pittsburgh attorney acquired the rights to the brand, and
began contract brewing at the the old Rolling Rock brewery in Latrobe, PA.
I don’t believe this beer is made with any adjuncts (corn or rice), but
it kind of tastes like it is. Overall, a pretty bland, not very impressive
beer. But I guess it’s a step up if you’re
used to drinking I.C. Light.
