Why a duck-rabbit?
OK, I
am 3 Oktoberfest or Marzen beers in, and I’m finding that (so far), Marzen
beers are pretty consistent – consistently good, that is.
Duck-Rabbit Märzen is also a dark amber, but slightly cloudier than the
other beers this week.  It’s also
slightly sweet, a little malty and nutty.
I think it’s just a little better than Hacker-Pschorr and Stoudt’s, but
not enough to bump it up to a very good.
So, why the duck-rabbit?  The founder
of The Duck-Rabbit Craft Brewery was a philosophy professor before he became a
brewer.  The duck-rabbit diagram is used
in philosophy, and may look like a duck or a rabbit, depending on the viewer's
perspective.  He liked the idea of using
a logo with ties to his former life.
