Not a whole lot to say here – Paulaner is another good, consistent
specimen of German Marzens.   It’s very
much on par with the Hacker-Pschorr. 
From what I hear, the Paulaner (and other Oktoberfest beers) served at
the actual Oktoberfest festival are more golden, slightly lighter versions of
the beer.

Yes supposedly some of the Munich breweries have been serving lighter colored beers at Oktoberfest in the last few years. I guess some people find them more quaffable. That won't change the definition of the traditional Oktoberfest style, one of my favorite styles.
