If I was from Paris,
I would say "Ooh la la, la la la la la!"
I would say "Ooh la la, la la la la la!"
The Eliott Ness Amber Lager is a Vienna style lager – it is deep amber color, and has more hop character than many lagers. Eliot Ness is from Great Lake Brewing Company in Cleveland, who produce many award-winning beers. I visited their brewpub a couple summers ago on a roadtrip with my brother. This beer was a very good start to a fun night out with my buddies.
We met up at Meridian Pint in the Columbia Heights area of DC. This beer bar and restaurant opened in the summer of 2010 and seems to pack them in. They probably have about 20 craft beers plus PBR on tap, and more beers available in bottles. In the downstairs bar, they have a few booths with 2 taps built into the middle of the table. These large booths must be reserved on weekends, and there is a minimum of 12 pints per hour.
After a couple beers and dinner at Meridian, we headed down a few blocks for the night’s main attraction – Grace Potter and the Nocturnals at 930 Club. This show sold out the day tickets went on sale. GPN is achieving commercial success with their latest album and the song “Paris”, but they’ve been putting out music since 2003. It looks like an image consultant got a hold of Grace, because she’s definitely glammed it up in the last year, trading in her t-shirts and jeans for shiny short dresses.
This girl has a set of pipes – she has been compared to Janis Joplin. She also plays the Hammond organ and guitar on some songs. The highlight of the show was the last song of the main set, “Medicine”, followed by the encore – an excellent cover of Heart’s “Crazy on You” and the crowd pleaser “Paris”. Check out the links and see for yourself!
