Lucy, I’m home!

Alright, don’t take this the wrong way, but Starr Hill Lucy is the craft beer drinker’s Bud Light Lime.  I guess there’s really no other way to take that, is there?

Taken directly from Starr Hill’s web site, “Lucy is a light English summer ale, spiced with ginger, lime, and coriander. It will remind you of warm summer nights on the beach.”

It reminds me of beer mixed with a little lime Kool-Aid and ginger ale.  It’s actually a little disappointing coming from Starr Hill, who usually put out some pretty good beers.  Maybe they’re positioning this as a “gateway beer,” trying to lure Bud Light Lime drinking sorority girls to the world of craft beers.  If that’s their goal, well then, “Good on ya, mate!”
