Presidente Pilsener
Dominican Republic
P + 1 = G
They say, "It's better in the Bahamas." I say, "It's better on any Caribbean island, when you are on holiday, and when you are (really) between jobs, not having to worry about work at all.
So now that I'm on St. Thomas, I'm kicking off the Island Beer Run! This is not necessarily beers brewed on this island (I don't think there are any), but beers brewed on any island, preferably a tropical island. And since "it's better here," every beer in this run automatically gets a 1 point bump-up.
It took us 2 days of traveling to get here (Sunday and Monday). On Monday's flight from MIA to STT, I had a MGD, but that doesn't count.
My island beer with dinner was a Presidente Pilsner, brewed in the Dominican Republic. It's pretty much the Budweiser of the Carribean, it's available everywhere, and brewed with adjuncts (corn and rice) to reduce the cost and lighten the taste for mass appeal. It poured a pale yellow color from a green bottle, and the the taste was light, kinda bland and a little skunky. But hey, "it's better here."
