 Oh my Darling…

I seemed to recall enjoying this beer one night last week, as well as several other beers.  So I wanted to give it its due, and make it the official beer of the day.

Clown Shoes Beer was actually started in 2009 by a couple of guys who managed the beer section at a Massachusetts liquor store, and thought they could make a pretty good beer.  And that they do.  Clown Shoes brews are getting a following in the DC area.

The Clementine White Ale is a Belgian style white ale, flavored with Clementine orange peel, coriander and other spices.  The orange taste is just enough to notice, but not overpowering.

While doing some research tonight, I actually came across a web site that referenced a bit of a controversy surrounding some of Clown Shoe’s beer names and labels, which some consider sexist and/or racist, such as the Tramp Stamp IPA pictured here.  Read the article and tell me what you think!
