Home again, home again…

I figured since I’m back home, I should have a hometown beer.

Earlier this year I had the Optimal Wit from Alexandria’s Port City, which was pretty good.  The Essential Pale Ale poured a golden yellow in the glass. 

This beer had a lighter hop taste than other pale ales, but it had a strange sweet taste that overpowered the beer.  I couldn’t get over the sweetness, so I’m bumping this one down to a Passable.
