I took a tour of the Clipper City / Heavy Seas brewery a couple years ago, and the story is that the National Bohemain brewery also produced National Premium beer. This is supposed to be the same recipe as the original National Premium. Please don’t let Natty Boh’s reputation (and taste) mislead you – this is a very good, crisp and light ale.
Sorry Jeff but you are a bit confused - McHenry (also by the brewery formerly known as Clipper City) is the beer that supposedly uses the Natl Premium recipe. McHenry is now called Classic Lager. The Gold Ale is an American Pale Ale style.
